Turkey Treat Holder

This super cute craft not only adds color to your table but is a place card as well.  You can also fill them with a little snack or treat that will be an added bonus for each and every guest.

Turkey Treat Holder

You will need:
Pencil
Cardboard Egg carton
Scissors
Tempera paint (brown and orange)
Red pipe cleaner
Pushpin (optional)
2 googly eyes
Colored feathers
Glue
Scotch tape
White paper
Toothpick
Marker
Instructions:
Draw a cut line around one of the cups in the egg carton. I was able to make four turkeys out of one egg carton.

Next cut along the line.

Paint the entire cup using the brown paint leaving a small area for the beak which you will later paint orange after the brown has dried completely.
Let dry.

Cut a four inch piece of pipe cleaner.
Fold the pipe cleaner in half and twist the ends together to form a wattle. Push the exposed wire through the top of the turkey's beak until one third of the pipe cleaner is through the hole. (Tip: Stick a pushpin through the carton first.) To keep the wattle from slipping out, bend down the inserted end.
Glue on the googly eyes and feathers.
To make a name tag, cut out a strip of white paper and write your guests name on each strip.
On the back side of each strip place a toothpick and secure with tape.
Stick the toothpick through one side of the turkey.
The holder is ready to fill with nuts or another tasty treat!
Tip: Make sure to use pencil when creating your cut lines.  If you use a marker it may show through your paint.
