All of the spooky decorations are put away until next year and our minds are moving full speed ahead into the holiday season that is fast approaching. Christmas decorations are already strewn about in every store you enter. Personally I like to enjoy my holidays one at a time. I'm not exactly sure when Thanksgiving became so quickly bypassed but it seems that it doesn't even get recognized anymore. That is other than at the supermarket when turkeys go on sale the week prior too the forth Thursday in Novemeber. It seems funny that a holiday that really has such a great meaning behind it gets brushed to the side so easily. I know that in everyones life at every moment there are things to be thankful for. Sometimes its the little things that get taken for granted that are the most meaningful. Like the little kiss your kids give you before they go to bed, the roof over our heads or even the running water that is so easily accessible. So many days pass by that people focus on what they don't have or what needs to be changed that they don't pay enough attention to the things that are right in front of them ready to be enjoyed! Our busy lives tend to lead us around instead of us leading them. Hopefully everyone can take a a little time before the holiday season craziness begins and enjoy the simple things that are right there in front of them. Maybe even reach out and brighten up someone else's day. I once heard a quote by Paul Shane Sear that said “As one person I cannot change the world, but I can change the world of one person.” A simple friendly gesture might change someones outlook on the day which may be passed along to someone else. Who knows you may even start a trend! Be thankful for today and for every smiling face that's part of it.
Hopefully I can pass along a couple things this week that will bring your family together or even just add some fun to your day. I added a tasty recipe thats easy and really cooks itself. You could use this extra time to maybe do a fun project and it just so happens that a have a fun fall project that will get you outside to collect some of the last few colorful leaves on the trees. I also have a little tip that goes hand and hand with my recipe for this week.
I hope everyone is enjoying my blog as much as I'm enjoying putting it together and as always thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to check it out!!!!
