Here is the best chili recipe I have ever came across. It may have a couple different ingredients but don't dare change a thing. It has a little spice but the little ones can still eat it. To add some extra heat increase the amount of chili powder or even add some diced jalapeños for some extra heat. Enjoy!
Chili
1/2 cup green onions ~ chopped
1 green bell pepper ~ diced
2 celery stalks ~ diced
1 small onion ~ diced
2 cloves garlic ~ minced
4 Tbsp butter
1- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef or ground turkey
1 tsp kosher salt (if using table salt only use 3/4 tsp)
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 Tbsp Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning
1 tsp chili powder
1 pkg chili seasoning
1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes
1 14.5 oz can diced roasted garlic tomatoes
1 10 oz can Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies
1 15 oz can kidney beans (I love beans so I always toss in two cans)
1 10.75 oz can Campbell's cream of mushroom soup
Optional:
Additional 1/2 cup green onions ~ chopped
sour cream
shredded cheddar cheese
Fritos ~ crushed
Saute vegetables in butter.
Brown ground beef with salt, pepper, chili powder and Tony Chachere's. Drain.
Combine meat with vegetables. Stir and simmer for 10 minutes.
Stir in chili seasoning packet.
Add can tomatoes, soup and kidney beans. Bring to boil and reduce heat.
Cover and simmer about 30 minutes.
*TIP Add shredded cheddar cheese, Crushed Fritios, sour cream and fresh sliced green onion to make your bowl of chili super tasty!
*TIP You can find Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning at most supermarkets in their spice aisle. To make it even easier here is a picture of the container.
