Spooky Pumpkin Scene

This is a great end of the Halloween season project.  Why do I say this because you can cut the cost by 1/2 or more and you will have it all ready to go for next season.  All their craft pumpkins and figurines go on mega sale by mid to late October.  You may not have the selection you have in late September but the discount is well worth it. No one will believe you made it yourself.

Spooky Pumpkin Scene
1 large foam craft pumpkin
Lemax Spooky Town figurines of your choice (Found at Michael’s)
Mini set of battery operated string lights (Purple looks super cool)
Black paint
White paint
Paint brushes
Rectangular foam block
Small toothed serrated pumpkin carving knife
Decorating moss
Hot glue gun (set at low-temp)
Start by carving out the front of the pumpkin with your pumpkin carving knife.
Paint inside of pumpkin black being careful at edges not to overlap onto the edge or front of pumpkin.  This will take a couple coats. Let dry completely.
Paint some wispy clouds with white paint along the back side of the pumpkin.
Cut to form foam block so it sits level inside the bottom of pumpkin. Cover top and sides of foam block with moss securing with hot glue on low-temp. (high-temp will melt the foam.)
Secure Foam block in the bottom of pumpkin using hot glue.
Add the string of lights along back side of foam block leaving on/off switch accessible.  Don't glue lights in so you can swap them out if they ever quit working.
Add figurines and move them around until you are happy with the final product.  Secure in place with hot glue.
Add some moss to the inside edge of the pumpkin with hot glue for a little extra something.
